Back! ... General Douglas MacArthur (centre) returns to the Philippines in 1944.
In 1944, General Douglas MacArthur led the allied attack on the Japanese who had conquered the Philippines years before. The campaign began at this spot, Red Beach, Palo, Letye. This is where Gen. MacArthur made his famous landing, just minutes after the Marines had secured the beach head. It was on this occasion that the famous general made the second half of his famous "I shall return" speech.
Situated along the historic Red Beach, site of one of the greatest naval battles in history, this " Class A Resort " is just a stone's throw away from the MacArthur Landing Memorial.
